Notre maison · our story
Kabba grew up cooking at her mother's side in Dakar — long simmers, bissap pressed cool for guests, rice toasted until the bottom turns gold. The same recipes still leave our stove the way they were taught: slow, generous, packed like you're family. We've been cooking for Portland families out of this kitchen for years, and we're still answering every phone call by name.

Teranga · in their words
“Mama can cook! Three entrees and three Fataya meat pies—piping hot in 20 minutes on a quiet Tuesday. I ordered the Yassa with the fish: limey, spicy, crisp. Loved the caramelized onions and fluffy rice. Generous portions. One of the few places in Portland that lives up to a five-star rating.”
“Our last meal in Portland made us want to move. The Ndambe sandwich is like a less sloppy black-eyed-bean sloppy joe—better. Tart hibiscus, bold ginger, hearty Mafe Yapp, sweet plantains—but you're here for Fataya: flaky crust, fabulous filling, full of spice. Dip it in that chunky onion chutney. Try everything.”
“First time ordering from Kabba's and they did not disappoint! We ordered online for pickup—Fataya, Nems, chicken Yassa, and Thiebou Yapp. The food was ready on time. The Fataya was great: seasoned meat and a crisp pastry. The Nems were delicious with a spicy sauce. The chicken yassa was tender on rice. The Thiebou Yapp was the hit—lamb super tender, rice superb. We'll definitely be back.”
